STIGA Sports expands its range with the STIGA Supreme Tennis Racket in Three Models

Sweden’s STIGA Sports is strengthening its presence in the racket-sports segment. Already a recognized force in table tennis and padel, STIGA is now setting its sights on tennis. There are an estimated 400,000 active tennis players in Sweden alone, of which 105,000 are registered; thus, the market is enormous.

As a first step, STIGA will launch three variants of the Supreme: STIGA Supreme, STIGA Supreme Light Weight, and STIGA Supreme 26 JR.

Tennis pro Simon Freund is enthusiastic about the new racket. Since last spring, he has tested the racket on the court, and has this to say about his experience:

“The Supreme is a fantastic racket series that’s truly made for all types of players. I grew up playing table tennis on a STIGA table we had set up at home, so I was very happy that tennis players now have the opportunity to benefit from the company’s expert knowledge in creating different kinds of rackets. They’re for everyone – from hobby player to pro.”

The step from table tennis to tennis may seem large, but for the folks at STIGA Sports, the two sports have progressed side by side since the company’s start in 1944. Tennis, however, has been part of the range at intervals. 

“In the 1970s, a promising young tennis talent from Växjö, by the name of Mats Wilander, used STIGA rackets,” reveals John Bandstigen, STIGA’s Product Manager for Racket Sports.

“Now, we’ve returned once again to our tennis roots, and are proud to present a tennis product range of the highest quality. The STIGA Supreme series offers a great tennis experience for men, women, and junior players.”
